If you own a Suzuki GSXR, or any other sports bike for that matter, then you have without a doubt done some looking around at the bike shop when it came time to replace your clip-on handlebars. Or perhaps you have been thinking of upgrading to clip-ons, and you just simply haven’t made the jump yet. Either way, there are a few things you should know about clip-ons before you open up your wallet.
First, there are a ton of different clip-ons out there, so don’t just blow your cash in the general direction of the most inexpensive pair you can find… you need to find a trusted brand. You would not buy cheap forks from a company you have never heard of, so why would you do the same with your handlebars?
Second, make sure that the clip-ons you are ordering (or buying) adjust to the degree that you desire. This is usually somewhere around a 7, so make sure and check with your dealer before buying.
Clip-ons can be a great addition to your bike. They can provide you with the only practical way to drive for hours in a comfortable position, and then instantly switch for a high speed race or run. There is no hassle, no worries, and no confusion… only the spin of a wrench, and your handlebars are perfectly adjusted to the way they suit you best.

Many people prefer aluminum handlebars, and there are some reasons for this. For one, aluminum is strong. Two, aluminum is lightweight. Three, often when you buy higher grade aluminum bars and clips, you will never have to change the clips again. If you get into an accident, you can simply change out the bars and be on your way! This can save you a lot of money, and can provide you with comfort and ease of use along the way.
While clip-ons are sometimes more pricey than you would expect, you need to focus on the things they allow you to do. They let you drive an hours long drive in comfort instead of in stiffness or pain, and that is worth a lot in itself. Remember the time you took a road trip and needed to visit a chiropractor when you got back? Who wants to do that? Clip-ons are the way to go if you like comfort, ease of use, and versatility. There simply is no better option.
